Poor vision can affect your child's education and development

It is extremely important that your child's vision is protected and examined at least every 12 months up until the age of ten. They should have an eye examination before they attend school to prevent easily treatable eye conditions from disrupting their education and causing them to feel frustrated.

Your child may not be able to tell you that they have an eye condition either, simply because they don't always know what to look for. Vision problems including short and long sightedness, astigmatism and colour blindness can stop your child from viewing the board properly, developing their literacy skills and even making a career choice later in life.

Children are quickly made aware of developments in modern technology. Tablets, phone screens, television and computer screens can all affect your child's vision. It is important that they take time away from these to develop a normal range of vision – near, far and peripheral.

Our experienced optometrists will give you all of the information and support you need to ensure your child's vision is cared for and protected. If you have any concerns about your child's vision it's vital that you discuss this with our optometrists. You may notice a squint or that your child is sitting closer than usual to the television; no matter how small you feel the problem is, it is important that you explain your observation to our optometrist.

We specialise in eyewear and our expert team will help you find eyewear that suits your child's lifestyle requirements. Our unique in-house laboratory means that you no longer have to wait for your eyewear. We'll adjust, repair and clean your child's eyewear on-site and give you all the information you need to ensure they are kept safe and clean.

Booking an eye test with the friendly team at All In One Eyecare couldn't be easier. Either call us in practice on 020 8680 2828 or alternatively visit our eye test appointment page and book your next examination.
